The New Heavy Attack Mythic Question

The lead locations don't make much sense to me. Most people who run heavy attack builds don't run trials. Most people who regularly run trials don't use heavy attack builds. So, why are two of the leads for the new heavy attack mythic in a trial? That locks the mythic away from most of the people who would actually use it. I just don't understand.

Okay, you must now win 5 consecutive games of competitive Tales of Tribute instead.

Indeed, but since the lead drops in normal as well, any heavy attack build do enough damage to complete it.
Also, the new mythic will (and I believe is intended to) elevate the HA builds to competitive level.
Also, the fact that it's Rakkhat-themed makes it not irrelevant that there are lead in MoL.

So, IMO, it's not really locked. It's unusual, sure, but anyone can do an old normal trial such as this one.

Plenty of people run heavy attack builds in normal trials. Not so much in vet.

Normal trials are entirely doable by anyone.

I'm a PvPer. I do PvP things and only venture into PvE when needed for sets. I do not have a good PvE build or rotation - I literally use crafted crit sets with PvP traits for my PvE farming.

On more than one occasion, my middling DPS was 30%-40% of the group's DPS in a trial. That means that some players were basically not doing anything, because I was basically not doing anything, and we still had 0 issues completing the trial.

With the group finder tool, literally anyone can complete normal trials now. Join a run listed in the group finder or make your own and turn on the autoaccept function, and you can literally do nothing but light attack your way through. If you die, people will rez you. There aren't even that many one shot mechanics in normal trials.

You do not have to have any DPS because
A ) Normal Trials are balanced to be completed by casual players, and
B ) there are 7-9 other DPS players making up for the lowest DPS player.

No, the trial leads do not prevent anyone from getting the mythic.

You just have to do 1 normal MoL. It's achievable by anyone, you could even afk it and the group would still make it through 90% of the time.

There are several leads with parts found in Trials of which said leads have nothing to do with running trials after you get them. I hate that myself as I just am not a huge trial person.

On one of them I posted about it as I had never ran that trial and there were rarely any trials for it in the group finder. I was advised to suck it up and start a trial group of my own which I did and it wasn't so bad.

    Is MoL duo-able?
Or is there some sort of mechanic to prevent that?

I imagine it would take you some years to complete. Even normal trial bosses have a lot of health.

Last time we did normal MoL, I don't think we even got a second prayer phase. Normal trials are truly accessible to anyone. We have senior citizens who it became too easy for in my social guild, so we started taking them into vet. That's how easy. Ask your guild, you may not be the only person looking for it in guild and you could put together a fun run. This is my plan since my trial team will be focusing on the new trial when it launches.

Who says most people running HA's don't run trials?

Nuthin wrong with HA builds. HA One Bar builds are less frequent in trials, but with the new mythic you can't run an Oakensoul build anyway so it's not locked to a one bar build.

Kind of. I've duo'd it to the last boss. It takes a bit of time but with a good build it's not bad at all. The last boss has a dps check or do a complex mechanic. We did not have the damage to bypass the mechanic nor the speed to solo the backyard mechanic. Backyard can be soloable with the right build (you have to be fast, know where to go and maybe get a bit lucky), and the damage is probably doable for the 150k parsers, but it would take a lot to duo the trial. If you want the lead joining a pug is by far the easiest and quickest choice.

If someone that doesn't run Trials runs a Trial for a specific reward it's possible that person will end up liking the experience and will do it more which may mean that they will spend more time in game, have more fun in game, and potentially spend more $ in the future.

Obviously, the approach of tossing leads in Trials isn't without downsides as it annoys some of the people that aren't interested in Trials.

You see the same approach with the Torc of the Last Ayleid King. From a usability perspective, it'd make sense for it to be stupid easy to get for people that don't want to worry about gearing. But, instead it's leads are in the Infinite Archive and it's a fairly long grind to get it.

Since there is need for a runner in Rakkhat fight, the other person will get their armor smashed by Hulk and one-tapped. The twins probably aren't doable either as the other person won't be able to save the other if light boss or his buddies will start beaming.

The least amount of people I did nMol with was 6, so I guess 4 would be absolute minimum.
