Loving U46 (Knew / thought it was going to be amazing and its a home run from ZOS)
Personally, I get little out of the new patch since I don't subclass. So, in my case, the main point is the new UI: I like it very much! I also appreciate the new login interface background (glad the previous dark one is gone).

Side note: please don't restrict the meaning of the poll choices by adding comments. I like U46 but I don't find it amazing and I don't see it as a home run for ZOS.

Do you play DK? They got a sustain nerf due to subclassing.
What about healer? Pillagers got nerfed due to the high Ultimate regen from subclassing.
Much like hybridisation, even the people who don't do it still get affected in the long run.

    Not the best poll tbh

I feel like it's mostly fine, a little disappointed in the new zone's "main quest", I don't think I'll be touching PvP this patch cycle, and ZOS save Necro pls but pretty happy with everything else

As of posting this comment only 25% of responders had something positive to say. 75% of responders are either negative or otherwise dissatisfied in some way. What a fantastic update.

I’ve been here long enough to understand that when ZOS decides on something, the feedback from players does very little to sway the final product, but it would be nice to hear why they didn't/don't want to take anything of what was said into account - because if you are actually someone who cares about PvE content above normal difficulty and PvP you've just been left with a crazy unbalanceable mess - and if what happened with hybridization is any indication (the fact that they left it half finished), the problems that have arisen from this won't really get looked at by the dev team. It took them until AFTER the patch went live to even comment on the Necromancer issue, when it's been heavily talked about in the PTS section for nearly 2 months.

I think our perception of how we are seeing the discussion is moreso the rub here. You line out that "NB has cloak" which you associate that to that is an ability that only Nightblade can access (or has been able to). What has been stopping my DK from picking up medium armor, with a bow, daggers, and running around in stealth right up behind someone and then assassinate them with a heavy hit? Nothing, and had I not included "stopping my DK" and just simply said I play a character that wears medium armor, uses a bow and daggers and is very stealthy like an assassin you'd automatically say oh you play a night blade dont you? Which again would be incorrect because since day 1 you've been able to play that way with any character. So to think that abilities must be assigned to a specific class name isn't correct. Your Class Identity as I stated begins with how youre choosing to play the game which has again since day 1 been at the heart of the games design right out the gate that is a fact. Devs have simply found a way to create a system (subclassing) that allows you to get access to abilities that play right into how youre wanting to play while preserving your original choice of "class" to begin with.

And also just respectfully replying to the comments here not trying to argue what so ever. As you said it is fine that I think subclassing is a good idea and it is fine that you think subclassing is a bad idea. We are both correct in our viewpoints and its healthy that we get our ideas out on the table for everyone to review that is part of change :)

i think we view the game thru different lenses. i'm typically solo. i prefer pvp but have had the opportunity to play pve at the highest levels. i love the expression this game gives. i enjoy seeing the same people, but sometimes on different builds. i typically will let people engage me first so i dont feel like a bully. i "main" magsorc but had mastered every class and spec previous to the mag/stam split.

as a magsorc, i will read names of people. the health bars. then i look for defensive buffs because these are the fastest ways to identify the class. from that information you can start to look at their rotation. at this point i can start to anticipate behavior, and truely get inside the mind of my opponent. then i wait for a mistake and capitalize. each class is different. each has strengths and weaknesses. you start to see how a class plays out, and can be played at the highest end. each class plays different for each type of matchup it might face. this is the flavor for me. this is the class identity. i love to see people, and which builds they are running, and then see if they want to fight.

its all gone tho. no longer can i expect certain behavior from certain classes.... the guessing game will be so complicated that you might as well throw it out the window. just look at hp and group people up to aoe them down. but then its a bland and tasteless experience. idk man it kills it for me. its like eating steak with a blender.

i understand why its fun. it opens up a lot of new, and extremely powerful combinations. groups can spec in unique and more powerful ways now... but it's a completely different game. theres no trade off anymore. sure nightblades can cloak, shadow image, incap/spectral, but they traditionally had draw backs. sorc has streak but its squishy and traditionally lacked a spammable. root and snare him, hes in trouble. but now anyone can take anything with no draw backs, and it will lead to far less build diversity, and to an even more tanky meta than it already is. this is not to mention ball groups which i assume will be buffed by like 180% minimum because of how they can hyper role specialize now.

the new build combinations will be fun, but at the expense of what made everything unique and special. id prefer to keep everything special than have the extra power.

Changed my mind from negative to positive about U46 (thought it was going to be a hot mess but its acutally pretty nice)
At first I was negative, but now I'm positive about it.
Even though there are game balance issues, this is the best update in ESO.
If only they could fix the problem of Arcanist's Fatecarver being too powerful, PvE DPS would be enjoy and freedom.
I think Fatecarver's damage should be nerfed by about 20%.
As for PvP, Cyrodiil don't care if it's broken because the game balance is already broken.
PvP is a joke until The Vengeance campaign is implemented.

Very few MMORPG allow you the freedom to build your own character like Ultima Online does.
Now the update, ESO gives you that freedom with multiclassing.
I love MMORPG that freedom. Let's play the free builds.

To me this update was as big of a change as One Tamriel was, classes is the core piece of the game, specially if you do PvP, unlike One Tamriel however, I'm not a new player looking to try changes that make the game completely different anymore.

Logged in, tried a duel against someone who was using subclassing, and the experience of not knowing what class are they plus the overpowered combinations they were able to use just felt like ZOS allowed cheats into the game. Tried to subclass myself but just kinda felt clunky. When I realised it was just the same grind all over again with skills I already have on other characters I gave up, uninstalled the game and taking a break, I'm not sure if it's a permenent break or not, we'll see.

The "I just wanna obliterate stuff" part of me is overjoyed to see that a 5 min throw-together Herald/Ass/Spear Oakensoul build yields 70% crit chance with thief mundus, caps out on crit dmg without backstabber or major force, and basically decimates everything while not even wearing meta gear (Hexos Ward & Mora Scribe; I was using the char as an Arena farmer before). I imagine if I actually swapped Hexos out for a more deepsie set; it would murder everything even faster.

The "I like to play a balanced, non-homogenous game where classes have unique-feeling builds and playstyles" part of me is just screaming incoherently.

In all honesty, I was expecting to LOVE IT... but alas... even after leveling all the skill lines I plan to use, I've found some of my ideas for builds just suck. Worse, because I can only change TWO skill lines, I really cannot use ONE character- because sometimes (especially with Arcanist) the passives don't work with other classes. I expected that my Templar would be the best 'base' class but I'm finding that I want to experiment with other builds that I see players using- but I'm stuck with having to keep one Templar line. The entire reason I was so excited was because I thought I could finally use just ONE character and be able to play all the content- but now- I'm finding I cannot because of the 'only two' class lines being able to be changed. Now I'm stuck trying to find another class that fits into the 'has passives that works with all classes' and feel like I'm going to be stuck with Nightblade and I hate playing Nightblade... whereas I enjoy playing Templar, but when I want to switch, I'm stuck with being a 'partial Templar'. At least being a 'partial Nightblade' I can get the benefit of great passives and some useful skills that work with any build.

    • It is fun to experiment and play around with different builds.
    • The balancing issues were unaddressed.
    • With so many options available, it's a bit overwhelming. Before, we chose one class, now we cherry pick skill lines from all of them.
    • Levelling all the skill lines from scratch seems unnecessary. Especially since it's account wide and after a while it's going to be completely obsolete and forgotten.
    • New UI is a huge miss. I can't stress enough how poorly this was executed - there are other threads that go deeper into it.
    • I am still playing Graymoor content so can't comment on the new storyline but doesn't get me excited at all unlike some past ones.

One of my raid group disbanded, as some players quit the game.

As my gf saw, that she have to level all classes again, eventho she had all classes fully levelled over the past years, she immediately logged out and is totally unmotivated for the game now.

    Was expected.

Don't forget you have to level all the classes again... AT HALF SPEED. I get it, from a lore perspective, but looking at 10-12 hours of grinding to get a set of skill lines ready to even start playing with the system and running content has made me give up too.

I’d just returned to the game a few weeks ago after a couple of years away. I’ve been enjoying being back, working on my Templar as a Healer with some DPS capability if needed.

Since the patch I’m finding myself extremely unmotivated to continue playing. Seeing the class lines get dissected and spread around for whatever flavor of the month setup people are coming up with feels horrible.

On top of that, I’m anticipating that nerfs will come down to specific skills to try to balance them in the context of subclassing, while pure class setups will be ignored. They already did that with Radiant Oppression, which I liked before the patch but is just terrible to use now.

Hopefully it’s just a fleeting thing and it’ll get resolved, but I’ve gone from playing an hour or two a day into just logging in to get the daily reward and questioning why I bothered coming back.

For a perspective - running entire nDSA solo with 150% scroll, you will end with a subclass at lvl 49 (with like 98% to 50) with 3 skills of that line on the bar and the new CP star. nBRP would probably be faster but I dont like to die for arena reset.

Pretty much. It's interesting to find goofy builds, but not at the cost of losing the unique feeling of classes.

Don't feel bad, I am feeling demotivated as well. I don't like this feeling that if I choose to play my class as a pure class, that I am gimping myself.

Not quite sure where the at half speed comes from? Skyreach Catacombs with Grand XP Scroll and the new Green CP Skill line boost for 15% I pulled just the left side of SC to the chest event, clapped all those adds and gained 6 Ranks on the skill lines I was working on and the skills themselves instantly went to level 4 ready for morph. Idk exactly how many runs of SC it takes but in 2 days of farming it I managed to Rank 50 10 / 21 skill lines *shrug*

Actually even worse than I thought. I found out the hard way that I need all 3 of my templar's skill lines, unless I subclass arcanist, which I really don't want to do. As a result I have to play the same character, just weaker. I don't know if I suddenly got worse at the game (it's possible), but even doing the new WBs is a problem and there's barely anyone around to do them with.

I noticed this, too. I had been hoping player numbers at world bosses would be better than last year in West Weald since the population can only be spread out between three world bosses. Sadly this doesn't seem to be the case because even during prime time it can take a while for enough players to turn up to attempt to kill a boss. :(

might also be a direct result of the policy to incresingly drip content into those dailies over the year - so why shall I do any WB or delve dailies now when I know that furnishing plans and other style pages will be added later this year. Doing theese kind of things right after launch is really not smart any more.

Well… the game was fun at the start. It was fun during the mid-game too. It was even fun when I got into the end-game content.
    But then the problems started…

The game stopped being fun. For me, it all became about DPS. If you had good DPS, you could find a group and try for harder achievements and content.
Then they nerfed and kill HA, and once again, the fun was gone.

Then they gave us the Arcanist and the game became something I couldn't stop playing. I was sad, I was tired… but the Arcanist kept me in the game.
At that point, the game wasn't really fun anymore, all that mattered was DPS.

And now… it's a damn mess. The game isn't fun at all. What used to be fun has turned into an addiction, something I can't seem to let go of. Not because it's fun… but because I'm addicted to it.

But with the way things are now… there's no fun left. I don't feel connected to any class. The only thing that matters is DPS, now more than ever.

    So… how do I feel?
To tell you the truth… I feel like I'm finally ready to let go of this addiction.
Because there's absolutely nothing fun left here.

I'm too far from hitting 170k DPS to join others in the harder content.
And there's no real challenge in solo play.

    So… how do I feel?
I feel like ZoS actually helped me through all this mess. They made me realize that I'm finally healed. And now, it's time to find something meaningful, instead of getting lost in all this nonsense.

This doesn’t even feel like an Elder Scrolls game anymore.
